1. What the app does
BTHome Sensors scans nearby Bluetooth devices that implement the BTHome protocol, displays sensor values in charts, and stores a local history on your device for a period you choose in the app settings (default: 2 days). The app can optionally receive data in the background.
2. Data stored on your device
Sensor readings and history are stored only on your device. This information is not uploaded to the developer’s servers.
You can delete locally stored history at any time using the in-app delete option.
3. Data collected for analytics and crash reporting
The app uses third-party tools to help improve stability and understand basic usage. These tools may process limited technical information:
- Device identifier (e.g., an anonymous device ID) for analytics.
- Crash diagnostics (error logs, device/app technical details) when the app crashes.
The app does not request or collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, or payment information.
4. Third-party services
The app uses the following services:
- Expo (app framework/runtime)
- PostHog (analytics)
- Sentry (crash reporting)
These providers may process the technical data described above under their own privacy policies. If you want, you can review them directly on the providers’ websites.
5. Permissions
BTHome Sensors may request:
- Bluetooth – to scan and communicate with BTHome devices.
- Location – required by iOS to perform Bluetooth scanning.
- Notifications – optional alerts about sensor events (if you enable them).
You can revoke permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
6. Advertising and tracking
The app does not show ads and does not use data for cross-app advertising tracking.
7. EU / GDPR information
Sensor data is stored locally on your device, so you can exercise deletion and control directly in the app. For analytics/crash data processed by third parties, you can contact the developer for assistance.
